The A.C.T.S. Movement, Incorporated Selects OCHI Software to Serve North Carolinians Suffering from Food Insecurity

The A.C.T.S. Movement, Incorporated (A Commitment to Serve), founded by Mr. Reddgo Long, Jr., is a Wilmington-based non-profit championing the fight against food insecurity. Long founded The A.C.T.S. Movement after Hurricane Florence in order to aid people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances that were challenged by the aftermath of the storm. Long says, “I knew there was a community need related to food insecurity and a lack of resources in certain areas of this city. Since launching this nonprofit, we have become a partner agency with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and many other organizations to reduce food insecurity in our region.” In its continued growth, The A.C.T.S. Movement has selected OCHI Software to support its mission to foster change and service as a resource for those who need help.

OCHI was created in collaboration with the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation to serve as a Platform to support Community Integrated Health (www.ourcommunityhealthinitiative.org). OCHI’s, built atop a certified EHR, core functionality includes the ability to create and manage user specific programs for groups, ingesting biometric data, and designing assessments for completion by health coaches or the participants themselves.

Pete Gratale, Partner of OCHI, LLC (OCHI) stated that “Customizing our software for Community-Based Organizations is our recent Use Case for the Platform and we are excited to participate with this innovative program that addresses the needs of those with Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).” As a program and care management solution, OCHI gives The A.C.T.S. Movement several advantages, not the least of which is a simple solution for interoperability with NC Care 360 and the EHR’s of Providers. OCHI offers the ability to deliver bidirectional patient data between health system providers and community-based organizations, including YMCAs, who were providing a variety of services including health coaching to patients referred to them.

OCHI’s platform will support The A.C.T.S. Movement, Inc. in its dedication to ensuring underserved communities have access to consistent resources and support, including participation as a Human Service Organization in the Healthy Opportunities Pilot by providing healthy food boxes to approved Medicaid beneficiaries.

Sylvia E. Long, Ph.D. of The A.C.T.S. Movement says “We are thrilled to partner with OCHI to ensure the safe and consistent management of our client portfolio. OCHI has demonstrated its ability to execute one of our primary business needs, which is to facilitate secure client communication using elevated, HIPAA compliant software.” Dr. Long added, “Our vision is to be a partner with underprivileged families and alleviate the barriers that exist due to social determinants of health. OCHI will support us in accomplishing this through the management of healthy food box delivery services, which are designed to help beneficiaries achieve their member-centered health goals.”

OCHI, LLC is a technology platform designed to support collaborative care for treatment of conditions ranging from mental and behavioral health disorders, chronic physical illnesses, and services directed at those suffering Social Determinants of Health. www.OCHI.app
